Featured articles not using a 'slug' to create link

I have a "featured articles" slice, which automagically provides the ability to search articles and link to relevant articles.

The link that is created is not SEO friendly, in that the category is given in full, as opposed to a slug... eg: domain/History Hub/relevant-article.html, which ends up as domain/history%20hub/relevant-article.html.

Elsewhere on our Prismic pages, we match up those long-form category names, and have a match in this case to an even shorter slug of history.

How should I customize the featured articles slice, so that it can provide SEO-friendly links to relevant articles?

thanks
