Default to true is always enabled for Booleans?

I can't seem to make the default value for a Boolean be false. It doesn't want to save. Am I being silly here?

It is true that small features and fixes may not be implemented quickly, Slice Machine is still in beta a lot of changes can happen at the same time. So you can expect improvements in the near future!
