Request: "Create a new page" button

Hi all!

This is a double request for the same feature, the “Create a new page“ blue button in the top bar.

I think the button label is not accurate at all, since you are not creating pages, but content. Because not all of the content types are a page type, and it’s difficult for my clients to understand how to create some content that are not pages. So my suggestion is to change it to: “Create new content“.

The second request is to change this button to be context-aware. If you have your content types split in some folders, if you go to the “Blog” space, and you click in that button, you expect to create Blog content, not to have 25 content types there. Or at least, to have content types inside that space at the very start, highlighted, and then the rest.

It also would be great to have more info in the content type selection overlay, for example, if you have spaces, I would like to see content types split by spaces too, or at least some reference. I think this is useful for projects with a lot of content types and content.

Thank you in advance!

Also worth adding that the context aware logic is already applicable within the “Type“ dropdown filter, but not for the create new button. It’d be a big UX win if we do the same thing - I notice it pretty much every day I work with Prismic

Hey team,

This makes a lot of sense to me! I've created those feature requests and raised them internally, it's up to the Product team to decide when and how to implement them but they've been made aware of both your feedback  Thanks for sharing it, this kind of comments are really helpful for us to improve the product. I'll let you know in this thread when/if these go live!
