Sorting documents?

Am I missing something, or is there no way to sort documents in the CMS?

It is always sorted by date asc, but what if you want to sort alphabetically, or reverse the order from oldest to newest etc.

This was one of the comments from our content editors, as they observed that sorting is a pretty standard feature in most content management platforms, and when there is a lot of data to manage not having the ability to sort the content does slow you down a fair bit.

Have you read this help page on ordering results from the API?

Hi @tim, unfortunately at the moment there is no way to change the order of the Prismic document list.

I will let the @features-team know about this and we will add this to our feature request tracker as a possible improvement for the future. We don’t have any plans to work on this right now, but we will let you know here if that changes at any point.

Hey @marcellothearcane ! I was actually referring to the Prismic CMS / web interface, which unfortunately doesn’t allow sorting :frowning:

Hey @levi thanks for looking into it.

Is there anywhere we can see your current feature request tracker, or roadmap of features?

I know your team probably has a lot on your plate at the moment, but it would be good to see how your team views the priority of certain feature requests. That way we can know if we need to wait and hold on for it to be released, build something ourselves, or try to contribute to Prismic in some way to assist?

Yeah, you can see what’s being worked on currently on our Progress page:
https://prismic.io/progress

And if you don’t see what you’re looking for here, then unfortunately it isn’t currently planned and there isn’t an ETA for it.

My apologies! I understand.
