Am I missing something, or is there no way to sort documents in the CMS?
It is always sorted by date asc, but what if you want to sort alphabetically, or reverse the order from oldest to newest etc.
This was one of the comments from our content editors, as they observed that sorting is a pretty standard feature in most content management platforms, and when there is a lot of data to manage not having the ability to sort the content does slow you down a fair bit.
Hi @tim, unfortunately at the moment there is no way to change the order of the Prismic document list.
I will let the @features-team know about this and we will add this to our feature request tracker as a possible improvement for the future. We don’t have any plans to work on this right now, but we will let you know here if that changes at any point.
Is there anywhere we can see your current feature request tracker, or roadmap of features?
I know your team probably has a lot on your plate at the moment, but it would be good to see how your team views the priority of certain feature requests. That way we can know if we need to wait and hold on for it to be released, build something ourselves, or try to contribute to Prismic in some way to assist?
For the moment, You can filter documents by Custom Type, author, translation status, and language. You can combine multiple filters.
Thanks for your valuable feedback. We already are tracking as a feature request what you are suggesting. I don't have any ETA when this is implemented.
We don't have any updates on this feature at the moment. You can stay informed about our latest developments by checking out our "What's New" page to learn more about all our current works in progress.
This seems like such a basic capability. Editors should have an organized view of documents - as opposed to forced filtering. This is enough to make me choose Sanity
Hi @ausbranham , we are working on a feature called Team Spaces which we think will help address this problem. Essentially, users will be able to group custom-types together (think of it a bit like folders), for example, you can group all the custom-types related to your blog together by applying a sort of pre-filtering. We're also working more on a new search which will make it easier for users to find the page they're looking for.
I'm curious to know if this will solve the problem for you or if there are use cases that will still not be covered by improving the search and adding the team spaces.
