Why Are Prismic AI Features Still Not Available by Default?

Hi Prismic Team,

The Prismic AI page has been showcasing features like automatic slice detection based on text or screenshots, content generation, and other AI capabilities for quite some time now — I believe it was announced around a year ago.

However, these features are still not available by default and seem to require a special request for access. Why are they still not generally accessible? Is this a temporary measure? Are there plans to roll them out to all users by default? If so, when can we expect that to happen?

Thanks!

Hi @vagmen27 ,

Thanks so much for reaching out — and apologies for the long wait in getting back to you.

You’re absolutely right — we’ve been showcasing several AI-powered features like automatic slice detection, content generation, and smart workflows for some time now, and we understand it might be confusing that these aren’t yet available by default.

The reason is that most of these features — including Prompt to Slice, Iterate with Slice, Smart Copy-Paste, Image to Slice, and MCP — are still in beta. We’re currently analyzing how users interact with them to decide which features we’ll continue to maintain, improve, or potentially phase out. For now, they’re available upon request, and we’re happy to activate them for you or your team — just let us know!

AI Translation has moved beyond that stage: it’s currently available with a free trial (10 translations), and beyond that, it’s a paid feature. If you’re interested in more translations, our Sales team would be happy to guide you further.

Please feel free to reach out if you’d like any features enabled or have more questions — we’d be happy to help!

Thanks.
