Renaming Slices

I have a project in production that uses Slice Machine with NextJS. I am hoping to rename a slice as its use-case has evolved and a new name is needed to reflect what it's for. Considering the slice is already in use in many published documents, is it possible to rename the slice (name and id) without it breaking the currently published documents that use the slice?

Hi, my team is also having trouble deleting slice machine shared slice already pushed to prismic. We deleted it manually in the code but still shows up in the prismic shared slice library. Has there been and updates on this or should we still use the solution above from last year?
