In the new interface dragging items in a repeatable zone is not possible anymore (sorting can only be done with arrows) . Is it possible to reintroduce dragging again? It's much needed for lists with many items.

Here's an example. (I blacked out data as it is not live yet). you can move items with the arrows up and down, but previously you could drag the items with a handle.

our content team is struggling now, because they have a group list of 500 items, and if they want to put something on top, they need to click and scroll like hundred times..

Thanks for raising your concern with us.
I have contacted the dev team as we can see there is a feature under development that show provide drag and drop functionality in addition to the up and down arrows that are available this instant.
They have a working version running in testing right now, but have a few bugs that still need to get addressed.
The expectation is that the final release will be available in days, likely even before the end of this week.
