Significance of choosing framework when creating repo

Hi,

I couldn't find a single sentence in docs about the significance of choosing framework when creating new repo. Even when going with "Choose other", I can't create new one without choosing framework. I assume that internally it means nothing, but i couldn't find anything that could confirm or deny my assumption.

Thank you

Hi @nikola.jovanovic,

Depending on which framework you choose, the onboarding guide when the repository's page builder first appears is different and framework-specific. The commands will differ depending on the framework, as well as whether the repository has access to the Slice Machine or not.

Let me know if that answers your question :slight_smile:

@Ezekiel Thanks for the prompt response.

Firstly, this is definately important. Can you please share which frameworks have access to Slice Machine and which don't?

Secondly, are there other significant differences.

@nikola.jovanovic you're welcome.

Slice Machine works with Next, Nuxt, and SvelteKit. While the Legacy Builder is still available with other frameworks, we recommend using one of those three to fully benefit from Prismic functionalities such as the Slice Machine.

There are no other significant differences to the selection at the start of a repository, so long as you make sure you set up your repository properly.

@Ezekiel

Man, you're awesome. Your quick response caught me off guard, my tea wasn't even ready.
I guess that also my question was clear and straight forward also (:
I think i can close this 50 tabs now.

Thank you and keep up the great work.

Appreciate it! You can enjoy your tea even more now :relieved_face: Have a good one, and if you have more questions, don't hesitate, though if they're less straight-forward I might send you to make another tea before I have anything ready for you :joy: :saluting_face:
