Unable to change UID due to deleted duplicate UID

Hi there,
I have a post that needs to have a specific UID, there were previous versions of this post that used the particular UID I need but I archived/deleted them all before finding out how to preserve that UID. Now I'm unable to access the old posts to duplicate and recreate through this route: Error: This value is already used by another document - FAQs - Prismic People. Is there a way to free up the UID once the other posts are no longer available?

The article you found is the correct way of recovering a UID.

For the moment this is the solution to this: What to do when a UID value is already in use by another document I know this isn’t ideal and I agree it can be frustrating so I’m tagging the @features-team to make them aware of this. Hopefully, we can discuss improving UID management in the future as a better solution to this. If/when we make any changes in this process we’ll give an update here. Thanks!
