Be able to add items to a repeatable zone in between existing items, or at the top. Comparable with how you can add slices today.
When adding multiple items to a repeatable zone, you are only able to add new items to the bottom/end of the list. When working with long lists of items, it can be very frustrating to drag items to the top, as dragging and scrolling is not a good experience

I understand why it would be useful to have this alternative behavior in Group fields. Especially when having extensive lists, as you mentioned. I'm adding this thread as an open feature request so we can keep track of it.
In the meantime, If you find that this is a big inconvenience, I can recommend you to replace the Group field for a Slice, so you have more freedom when reordering them.
