Change field from 'key text' to 'rich text' or vice versa, is data retained?

Hello, we have numerous fields that are 'key text' that we decide should be 'rich text'. There's also some the other way, 'rich text' to 'key text'.

If we change them in the custom types, and retain the same API ID, would they retain the data input across our documents?

I found this similar related question, but I was unsure if the answer here applies to our situation as well.

Migrating from 'Select' to 'Key Text' field type

Hello, We have a number of documents (100+) which have multiple 'Select' fields inside multiple slices. We'd now like to migrate these 'Select' types to 'Key Text' fields to allow more flexibility for our content writers. However, if we change the type of these fields (but retain the API ID) the previous field value is not reflected in the Key Text field and is therefore lost when the document is next saved. How can we change field types and transfer the field values? Luke

Hey @michael.nguyen, thanks for reaching out.
As Phil said in the post you shared, Prismic cannot recognize the content of one field to another even though they use the same ID name. The only option would be to create an Import job that would do this change, but you'd need to configure these files on your end.
