Deleting orphaned tags?

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue. Any updates?

Hi Everyone

The team has been working on rebuilding and releasing a new version of the editor. The tags have been rebuilt there, once the new builder is fully released, it will give us the flexibility to quickly iterate and make improvements like this.

We're happy to tell you the builder is now in Alpha  :tada:

You can read about the page builder in the link below.

BUT PLEASE BE WARNED:
The page builder is still in ALPHA, so there are some features that are not ready (PLEASE CHECK THE LIST).

Thanks

Hello everyone! I have the same issue where my tags are no longer associated with any document but they aren't deleted. I've tried switching between the new page builder and the legacy editor but nothing changes. Is there any update on this situation?

Hi @danyaviless18 ,

I've been able to recreate this on my side, and the team is already tracking this in their backlog. You can track that her for updates:

Same issue here. No documents associated with the tag, but the tag still exists.

Hi @designchap , thanks for raising the issue. The team is aware of it. It's not a priority to fix it right now but we will fix it as part of the new Page Builder. I'll let you know once we have a timeline on a fix.

Could there be a dedicated tag management admin in the future? It would be great to be able to add and delete from the list in a centralised area, as well as rename existing ones.

It's an area which is really lacking right now and I've multiple clients who are frustrated at not being able to clean up their tags.

Hi @studiotreble , thanks for the feedback. Would you see the tag manager as something you could access from the context of a page, or is this something you'd like to see available from the tags section of the doc list?

Best,
Guy

Hi Guy,

I saw it akin to the tag manager in the media library - which allows editing and management in a neat panel replacing the metadata of the media item when editing tags. Could it use the same mechanic within the tag selection modal in Page Builder? The two tagging systems appear visually and functionally similar to me.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks @studiotreble , makes sense. Yeh, given we already have the tag manage component I think the simplest way for us would be to reuse it in Page Builder. I just wanted to make sure this aligned with your expectations.

Hi @guy.proops, do you have any news on this issue ? It will be really great to have a possibility to delete unused tags. The same system to manage the tags as the one for the media library would be awesome, or any other possibility. the fact that today we cannot delete unused tags at all is frustrating...

Thanks for your help !

Jacques

Hi @jacques.decazes,

There are no updates for this right now. The team is working on some higher-priority cases, such as improving the search. Once we have any updates, we'll post them here.

Thanks.

Hi, any update on this issue? we've got some orphaned tags not linked to any documents that are still showing and we're unable to delete.
Thanks, Tamzin

Hello,
I am also experiencing this issue with a tag that is not associated with any document (published, archived, etc.) but that I cannot get rid of. Is this being addressed on Prismic's side?
Thank you

is there a way to delete it ourself or we have to ask Prismic team to help us?
