Deleting orphaned tags?

Hello - I followed the "getting rid of them in all existing documents (including archived and docs in releases). After that, the unused tags should get deleted" directions, and some of the unused tags disappeared/deleted and some still remain... Wondering how we can get the rest of the remaining tags deleted and what you may need from me to do so!

Tags should be deleted when they get removed from every existing document. If you detect a tag that isn't getting deleted, please share with us the URL of your repository and the name of the tag so we can add it to the issue tracker.

Thanks

I found that my repository has an orphaned tag, may I know how can I avoid trigger such issue in the future?

Hey @tech18, you need to delete the tags from all the existing documents. Including the ones in the archived tab.

I already deleted the documents in all tabs
My old tag is called "Social Contents", and changed to new tag called "Social Content", right now no document contains the old tag but the old tag exists.

We don't have a definitive solution for this bug just yet. What's the URL of your repository, @tech18?
I'll share it with the dev team so they can have your use case on file for future testing purposes.

Can you also help me to remove the orphaned tag as well? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this information.
At the moment, we don't have an available fix.
We'll inform you if this ever changes in this same thread.

Hi! Is there any update regarding this bug? I also have some old tags which are no longer attached to any documents. Could you provide me with some help, please?

Hello @a.abadal, we don't have news yet. We'll update this same thread whenever we do.

Hi, can I ask if there's any update on the changes? Will it be change in short? thanks.

Hello @tech18. We don't have any updates for the moment.
We'll update this thread whenever we do.

Hello, I am also encountering this issue.

Upon replacing a tag name, in this case 'Apparel' to 'Clothing'. All instances of 'Apparel' have been removed yet the orphaned tag is still present within the dropdown tag selector.

We are not removing the associated content type, so archiving and deleting the associated content type in attempt to fix this tag issue is not plausible.

Any progress on this? I can see the thread has been live for 2 years now.

Thanks for sharing your use case @james.harrison. We don't have a fix available yet.
Could you please send us the URL of your repository so we can add it to the issue tracker history?
I you prefer, you can send this information via dm. I've opened a private conversation that you can see in your inbox

We have some problem.

Can you share the details of the problem @frank?

We have a tag that is no longer associated with any document. Yet it continues to appear in our front end and I cannot delete via Prismic

Is there really no way to trigger the deletion of empty tags? We are about to launch our client's site and cannot figure this out. Our client has even gone so far as to delete every tag used on the site but the tags remain. There are no archived or planned documents either.

I should add: especially problematic is when a content editor misspells a tag and it cannot be deleted from the system reliably.

Running into this issue as well and honestly surprised there is no tag management available. Would you be able to start a DM with me so I can get this resolved?
