Customize Rich-Text-Editor format options with user-groups/roles

Hello!

Is it possible to customize the format-functions of the rich-text-editor by using user-groups and roles?

Hi @feicht.marco, it isn’t possible to customize the Rich Text formatting options by user roles, sorry. I’m curious what your use case would be for this. Can you clarify what you’d like to do?

Hi @Levi,

I want to set different functions for different user-groups in the richt-text-editor in Prismic. Like the follwing example:

User-group A can use:

  • Bold
  • Italic
  • Headline 2
  • Headline 3

User-group B can use:

  • Headline 2
  • Headline 3

@feicht.marco To help understand your use-case, what’s the reason you would want to give bold and italics access to one group and not another?

One of my clients wants to build a new website with Prismic. Some authors, who have backend-access, should only be able to use a few editor options, but the admins should use all of them.

Okay well as I mentioned this isn’t possible with Prismic. I will let the @features-team know about this and we will add this to our feature request tracker as a possible improvement for the future. We don’t have any plans to work on this right now, but we will let you know here if that changes at any point.

Any more information about your use-case would be helpful to the features team.
