It would be a cool feature to be able to duplicate slices within a custom type

If I understood your question correctly, it states that you want to reuse one slice within a different Custom Type. If so, you can add Slices to the Slice Library from the Custom Type editor. Find more details in Reuse Slices article.
If that's not the case, I'd like to understand your use case. Could you please elaborate more?

The author doesn't say that it's within a diffrent custom type, but within A custom type.
And I too have this request if the person askes the same as I do. Which is the possibility to quickly duplicate slices within Prismic when creating articles. Wordpress does it with easy. If I want to make five text slices in succession, it would be way easier to have a duplicate-button on the first slice than go through the whole Click button for new slice > Find slice > Click on slice to create it five times.
Anything like this possibly on the way?

Welcome to the Forum, and thanks for reaching out to us.
There is no Duplicate button or icon to duplicate slices. But you can duplicate or add the same slice from your repository. For this, go to your custom type, click on add a slice icon, and a pop-up will open where all the created slices are available. (Screenshot attached).
